Name Change Checklist

Changing your name? 

Learn from my mistake.  I didn’t officially finish changing my name until more than 2 years after the marriage deed was done.   

The final daunting task was changing my name on my social security card- which ended up taking less than 5 minutes.

2012 Duluth Flood

(July 2014 Addition: For those who are unaware of the flood that hit Duluth in June of 2012, this is what I'm referring to here.)

My husband and I just got back from walking around the Lakeside neighborhood of Duluth and I am in complete awe of what 8 inches of water can do.  It is literally amazing.  Here's what we saw.

It'a all part of the adventure

This has become my montra.  My go-to phrase when the proverbial poo hits the proverbial fan.  Don't get me wrong, I've been blessed with a lot of things in my life-a great family, a great husband, health, all those great things...-but sometimes I just wish everything would go the way I want it to go.  Is that too much to ask???

Anyway, this is how I look at things.  Adventures.  

Life is too short to be mad at the cosmos for dealing you the cards you were dealt.  

So I chose to enjoy my time, even if things aren't going perfectly, or even remotely alright.  I realize that most situations are temporary and there is an end to every dark tunnel.  You just might have to experience the adventure before you see the light at the end of it.

Yay for blogs!  I’ve started a few of these babies but graduate school always seems to get in the way and take up too much of my time.  Go figure. 

This blog will be my newest venture and will give me something to do when I don’t want to be doing homework, which is pretty much all the time.  I figure I’ll at least be keeping my brain active instead of turning it into mush by watching Jersey Shore (no offense Jersey Shore, well…maybe a little). 

To my friends and family who I am so horrible at keeping up to date with my life (and me in general), this blog is for you.
